Bathing or Shower Meditation

Back in May I shared a bathing meditation on Instagram that I learned when I travelled with Stacey to Costa Rica to do our first hypnotherapy training.

I thought it might be a good idea to re-share that meditation for those that might need some help to relax and feel at peace -even if it’s just for a few moments while you take a bath or shower! 🛁

  1. Before stepping into the tub or shower, take a deep breath and smile.
  2. Turn on and adjust the water temperature. Take a moment to pay attention to the hot or cool feeling of the water on your skin.
  3. Take a deep breath, exhale and smile.
  4. Experience the fresh, clear water washing away old energies, opening the cells of your body and your mind to health and joy.
  5. Lather your body with soap and take a moment to notice what that feels like and what the soap smells like. Allow this to help clean, relax and energize your body, mind and spirit.
  6. When finished, take a deep breath and smile.

Additionally to this meditation, while taking a bath or shower, it can be a perfect time to connect with your five senses. 🧘🏽‍♀️

🖐🏽What can you feel? Temperature of the water, soap lathered on your skin, your body heavy in the tub or your feet planted holding you up in the shower?

🦻🏼What can you hear? The water coming from the shower or the water sloshing as you move in the tub.

👃🏽What can you smell? Soaps, shampoos, oils, gels.

👀What can you see? The tiles, colours, bottles, etc.

👅What can you taste? This could be focusing on your breathing or maybe you taste the water as it runs down your face.
